Wet Water or Dry Water?

I was sitting down for lunch with my mother-in-law. She is 93 and living with dementia. I brought two glasses of water to the table, one for her and one for me. Before I put them down, I gave her a choice:
Would you like wet water or dry water?
She understood immediately.
She laughed. It gave her confidence that she could play with me like this.
The conventional language-learning dialogue is very flat:
Would you like some water? Yes, please. Thank you.
It is possible to weave multidimensionality into the most ordinary materials.
